Weddings in the Seychelles can take place on a number of beautiful island beaches, with a stunning backdrop of crystal clear waters, on the places with breathtaking views, under the sea… Everything about these islands is beautiful and extraordinary – the swaying coconut fronds, sweet scent of frangipani, dramatic sunsets, lush plantations, animal life and something in the air.
Ceremonies are conducted by the Registrar and in accordance with Seychelles Law. The date selected is subject to the Registrar’s availability, and the ceremony can’t be arranged on Seychelles Public Holidays. There are plenty of options for your ceremony from private beach garden, with direct access to a beautiful paradise beach to the ceremony on the top of mountain with breathtaking views. You can say I do on the yacht, on the sky (helicopter sightseeing) or on the most unique place- under the sea.
The planning is mostly about the choice between islands and the perfect resort for stay and about the right venue for your wedding. There are a lot of really great solutions and it’s hard to decide about the perfect one. Temperatures in the Seychelles are tropical (28-33° C) so you have to plan to wear light clothes that would be comfortable and be in accordance with tropical surroundings. The couple getting married should arrive to Seychelles at least 3 days prior to the ceremony.
When to go
The Seychelles promises sunshine all-year round but this is a tropical heaven and the rainy season is from December to February. If you prefer your temperatures a little cooler, then the months from May through to September are simply perfect for visit. Swimming, snorkeling and especially diving are the best possible during April/May and October/November and the water temperature sometimes reaches 29ºC. Temperatures in the Seychelles are tropical (28-33° C).
Couples marrying in Seychelles will need:
- Valid passport
- Birth certificates
- If either have been divorced or widowed, a change of name by deed poll or death certificate, whichever is relevant, must be provided for proof.
These documents have to be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to departure in order that arrangements can be made.
